Andrea was my first ever client. I remember being so nervous to meet her. I was terrified she’d see right through me and all my beginner business jitters. I’d been photographing boudoir for months, but I’d never actually had a real client before.
Insert Andrea. On the coldest, semi snowy, January day. It was a Valentine’s Day session & a gift to her husband. We talked about their plans to start trying for another baby, what they like to do, places they’d been together, and we also talked about a vow renewal since they’d eloped the first time.
After our first session, Andrea and I continued to get together, she eventually became a great friend and a brand ambassador. And now she’s a 2024 Davison Visuals bride!
All wedding collections come with an engagement session. It’s super important for us to connect. Engagement sessions are for you to see my shooting style, learn my vibe, and to just have freakin’ fun because wedding days can get stressful quick. However, with Andrea and Jay, they’ve obviously been engaged (and married) for years, so a traditional engagement session wasn’t going to cut it.
Instead, they took a family trip to Big Cedar and we turned their engagement session into a 50/50 split of family photos & couples portraits. Complete with Jay surprising Andrea with a gorgeous ring the night before too!!
The sunset was hitting perfectly, which is fantastic since it was the day after daylight savings. The fall leaves in the trees that line the lake in the background gave the photos the perfect warm hue as well.
I can’t wait to photograph their spring wedding!
